Natalie Decker M.S., LMHC
I use an integrated approach to help people with complex emotional and trauma-related issues. Think of it as a mind-body approach.
I use CBT to help clients understand their thoughts and beliefs, DBT to give them skills for regulating intense emotions, and somatic therapy to address how their trauma and feelings are held in the body.
Together, these tools build a complete toolkit for healing.
What populations do I work with?
Kids, teens, and adults for individual therapy and play therapy. I also work with parents struggling with parenting challenges and the parent/child relationship.
I have a passion for working with neurodivergent individuals.
I am a neurodivergent affirmed and trauma-informed therapist. Most of my clients are neurodivergent in one way or another.
Education
I am a graduate of Palm Beach Atlantic University. I hold a Master of Science degree in Counseling Education. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology with a minor in Christian Counseling from Liberty University.
Experience
I gained unique experience and training through my journey. I worked at a sleep clinic, learning much about the science of sleep and how this impacts mental health and physical health challenges. I worked at an inpatient residential facility and had the opportunity to work with adults of all ages who struggled with severe and persistent mental health illnesses. I worked at a local church, working with individuals who struggled with a wide range of mental health issues.
